Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has been slated to make a cameo appearance in The Muppets Movie, according to Slashfilm. Grohl will reportedly take over for Animal on the drums when the legendary Muppet monster is sent away to anger management classes. The film is also going to feature guest appearances from Lady Gaga, Jack Black and comedian Ricky Gervais.

Grohl has had previous acting experience portraying the Devil in Black's 2006 movie, Tenacious D: The Pick Of Destiny.

The Muppets Movie will star and be written by Jason Segel, who also wrote and starred in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The movie will hit theatres on November 23rd, 2011.

Grohl and Foo Fighters have been recording their seventh studio album, which is due for release sometime in 2011. The band has already begun booking several large festival dates next summer.
