Scorpions Aren't Quitting Just Yet

In 2011 the Scorpions announced their decision to call it a day after one final tour. But as new concert dates and recording projects were added to their plans, they – like many bands – have decided they will carry on.

“We called it the farewell tour thinking believing it would be the last time we would play,” says guitarist Matthias Jabs, “but the tour is still going, due to demand from the audience.” He now confirms that the band have quit their plan to quit. Much like fellow metal veterans Judas Priest, however, they will no longer play long tours.

New Kiss Album Won't Be Out Before Summer

Fans were hoping that Kiss' upcoming album, Monster -- which is already completed and mixed -- would be released in time for the July 20th opening gig of the band's joint tour with Motley Crew in Bristow, Virginia. Gene Simmons told Ultimate Classic Rock that the album will probably come out in "probably September or October." Simmons added that the band might included a couple of the album's songs in this summer's setlists.

Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, & Elvis Presley Holograms in the Works

Welcome to the 21st century! Plans are currently in motion to create "holograms" of Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Marilyn Monroe, among others. Billboard reported that the Morrison and Hendrix estates "may stage future holographic live performances." Jeff Jampol, who manages both artists' estates -- along with those of Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Peter Tosh, and Rick James -- explained, that a proposed 3D hologram would only be used in a new multimedia concert experience along with "the use of lasers, lights, high-quality audio and synchronized sound vibrations."

The Rolling Stones Will Not Tour in 2012

Keith Richards revealed that the Rolling Stones will not be touring in 2012. Richards spoke to Rolling Stone and explained that 2013 will probably be the year for the band to hit the road, admitting: "Basically, we're just not ready, I have a feeling that's more realistic." An industry insider told the magazine that the reason for the delay is due in part to concerns over Richards lasting a prolonged road trek in light of his 2006 brain surgery, saying, "They don't want to do a full tour.

Shinedown Creates E-Book to Accompany New CD

Shinedown singer Brent Smith said on Wednesday (March 14th) that the release of the band's fourth album, Amaryllis, on March 27th will be accompanied by an e-book called For Your Sake: Inside The Making Of Amaryllis, which Smith described as the first of its kind in the music industry. The "completely interactive" e-book will feature commentary, video footage and other content.
