Van Halen Tour Dates Announced

Van Halen played its first live show since 2008 Thursday, January 5 at the tiny Cafe Wha? nightclub in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. The show at the 250-person venue was the band's first since it ended its hugely successful 2007/2008 reunion trek with original singer David Lee Roth. The gig also served to officially kick off the promotional campaign for the new Van Halen album, "A Different Kind Of Truth", which will be released on February 7 via Interscope. The CD's first single and video, "Tatoo", will arrive on January 10.

James LaBrie Begins Writing New Solo CD

Dream Theater frontman James LaBrie just announced via his official Facebook page that he is beginning to write for his next solo album. LaBrie’s longtime writing partner Matt Guillory will once again lend his talents for the Dream Theater vocalist’s third solo album.

Keyboardist Matt Guillory began working with LaBrie more than a decade ago in the progressive metal project MullMuzzler. After releasing two albums under the name, the duo most recently composed LaBrie’s 2010 solo album ‘Static Impulse.’

C.O.C. New CD and North American Tour

Corrosion Of Conformity will be hitting the road for a North American headlining tour this March in support of their new self-titled album which will hit stores on February 28, 2012.
The tour kicks off March 1 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City, the trek will hit 15 cities including two performances at this year's SXSW Music Conference in Austin. The band will be joined by Torche, Valient Thorr and A Storm Of Light.


Tesla Receive Key to the City

Sacramento, California rockers Tesla received the key to the city from their hometown mayor Kevin Johnson yesterday (Wednesday, December 7) at the Sacramento Rock And Radio Museum at 20th and I streets (in the building that once housed Crabshaw Corner and The Oasis Ballroom).

In his acceptance speech, Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon stated about the honor, "I wanna thank Pat Martin at 98 Rock for encouraging us to overcome the problems we were having in the '90s and get back together. We got back together in 2000 and it's been a great ride ever since.


Paul Bostaph Leaves Testament

Paul Bostaph has officially parted ways with Testament following his previously announced 'serious injury' which kept him from recording the band's next album.
Testament frontman Chuck Billy confirmed the departure and the possible reason: "I, Eric, Alex, and Greg want to congratulate our brother, forever, Paul Bostaph on his new band, BlackGates. And while 'The Hands of Mayhem' will be sorely missed from our band, we wish him the ultimate success in everything that he does in his future."


Mr. Big to Release Raw Like Sushi 100

A deluxe MR. BIG box set, "Raw Like Sushi 100", will be released in Japan on January 25, 2012 via Victor Entertainment.

This deluxe box set consists of 2 DVDs and 2 CDs in a B4-size hard cover book.

The DVDs feature the concert "Live From The Living Room", held at Toho Studio, Tokyo, Japan, in January 2011 and documentary footage of MR. BIG's 2011 Japan tour (with a running time of over 60 minutes; subject to change).
